Dear Friends and Supporters-
Thanks to everyone's generosity, we had a wonderful fundraiser last weekend in Turners Falls. Both the bands were amazing, the raffle prizes superb, food simple yet delicious and a great time was had by all. Due to several graduations in the area, the turnout was less than we hoped, but we managed to raise a decent amount of money for our upcoming trip to Haiti. These dollars will go to our team to travel to Port au Prince, Haiti where we will provide on the ground support with Partners in Development. I leave on June 21 and will work for 3 weeks in the medical clinic, as well as begin the process of establishing some ongoing mobile clinics in the outlying area. These clinics will begin to serve people who are unable to travel to the clinic to receive medical care. Lionel, my Creole teacher will come to interpret for my first week. Also with our recent donations Milo and our construction team of 4 will be able to purchase construction materials and use those materials to help rebuild and construct new houses in Blanchard. Any funds above and beyond the aforementioned will go to PID Haiti to provide whatever is needed. A huge thank you to both bands- The Swinging Steaks and Barefoot Truth. You both rocked the pavilion and we appreciate your support for Haiti. Also thank you to everyone who donated the fantastic raffle prizes, volunteered your time for the benefit, and of course those who showed up. Stay tuned for our next fundraiser, and keep in touch with us as we travel for Haiti in a few weeks.
